They were hard to find. Exotic, growing in places as remote as New Zealand and Taiwan and imported for a high price. Kiwis: tricky to peel, messy to eat, but oh, so deliciously tangy and sweet.
Now they are everywhere and with this juice recipe, juiced along ingredients you would never have paired before.
And to make this juice even more exotic, let’s add yellow peaches – the greener the better – but let’s not get carried away… the juice returns to the real world with good old cucumber and lime and mint.
But it is not all fun. Mesclun is the responsible adult. Nutrition overload without even thinking you are eating greens.
The yellow peach and kiwi invite a heftier fiber texture while the cucumber lime and mint freshen and balance sweetness. The mesclun only hints as a flavor, but injects a green hue and overloads with nutrients.
Best in mornings as breakfast substitution or mid afternoon as a refreshing pick-me-up snack.
It was very good but kind of hard to make because of the kiwi. Good flavor and sweet.
You can taste a lot of the peach and kiwi in it so it is sweet but very delicious. First time juicing a peach and wasn’t hard. Recommended.
Pleasant taste better than the store bought. I replaced mesclun with beet greens and it was great. Big fan now.
The characteristic flavor of this fruit improves earthy, green recipes well and it helps reduce its sugar content.
The most prolific ingredient in terms of juicing yield, this gherkin is a perfect base for most juices.
With different colors and textures, this mix is the easiest way to juice leafy greens, resulting in a dark green juice with a strong, peppery profile, loaded with nutrients.
The fresh, intense and characteristic flavor of this herb can overwhelm easily other ingredients; use with caution.
Pit and cut in wedged; leave the skin (when organic and washed).
Peel and cut into stalks.
Scoop out of skin.
Open mesclun bag, pretty much. Cut lime in quarts with skin.
Put kiwi first. Push with half the peach. Add mesclun and lime. Add mint and the rest of the peach. Push all with the cucumber.
